Kudos to Cali

Dean Arthur Schwartzmiller, Worst Pedophile in US History
US child molester gets 152 years

A man in the US state of California has been sentenced to 152 years in prison for abusing two 12-year-old boys.

Dean Arthur Schwartzmiller, 65, was convicted last year on 11 charges of child molestation and one charge of possessing child pornography.

He had previous convictions for child sexual assault in other states.

When he was arrested at his home in San Jose in June 2005, police found detailed accounts of sex acts with hundreds of children.

The notebooks also contained pornographic photographs of children.

During the trial, Schwartzmiller said the memoirs were fictional.

But prosecutors said he had abused children for several decades and was one of the most prolific paedophiles in the US.

“Based on his logs and manuscripts, we figure a minimum of 250 (victims),” said Santa Clara county prosecutor Steve Fein.

How a beguiling blackmailer from Kingston coerced hundreds of young girls into performing acts of degradation, live and online. A story of lost innocence and misplaced trust.

Mark Bedford looks about 16 and is boy-band handsome, like Donny Osmond in his Puppy Love days or maybe Matthew Broderick as Ferris Bueller.

But Mr. Bedford is 23. He is a cunning and cruel online predator whose pitch perfect impersonation of a teenage girl fooled hundreds of girls in Canada and Britain. Several girls, including one 10-year-old, were coerced into performing degrading sexual acts in front of their webcams after being duped by Mr. Bedford.

He now faces a harsh prison sentence after pleading guilty to 10 extortion and child pornography-related charges last week in a Kingston courtroom.

Suspected serial child molester collared in Akita

AKITA — A man suspected of a series of child molestation cases in recent months has been arrested after he tailed an elementary schoolgirl and then fondled her in an apartment block elevator here, police said.

Naoki Yamagami, 28, was arrested for indecent assault after he allegedly performed indecent acts on the 10-year-old girl.

Yamagami admits to the allegations and has become the prime suspect in 11 similar unsolved cases reported in Akita since September last year.

Police said the case for which Yamagami was arrested involved him following the elementary schoolgirl home on Jan. 12, sneaking into the same elevator as her and then performing indecent acts on her. The girl broke away from Yamagami’s clutches and fled into her home.

Alicia’s Law

Alicia Kozakiewicz was abducted six years ago by a man she met online. For four days she was brutally raped and chained to his floor while he continued to go to work and bragged online about kidnapping a young girl. Finally a team of law enforcement officers specializing in cybercrime rescued her and arrested him.

The nineteen-year-old now spends much of her time making presentations about online safety and going to schools to warn others about online predators through her story. Last year she testified before congress, “Please support the children. Save us from pedophiles, the pornographers, the monsters. The boogeyman is real, and he lives on the Net. He lived on my computer, and he lives in yours. While you are sitting here, he’s at home with your children. . . . Task forces all over this country are poised to capture him, to put him in that prison cell with the man who hurt me. They can do it; they want to do it. Don’t you?”

Teachers Arrested for Online Solicitation

Internet Crime detectives are ensnaring predators simply by saying that they are 14-year-old girls, opening up a chat with them and letting the men walk themselves right into a nice pair of silver bracelets. It seems to happen every week. Examples:

Anthony Waguespack arrested for computer-aided solicitation and indecent behavior. This 54-year-old band teacher at Assumption High School in Napoleonville, LA used the screenname “anotherbadgolfer2” and started up a chat with a young girl. Then he sent her webcam footage of himself maturating.

Although these regulations are only a small piece of the safety puzzle they may help. Parents must provide the majority of safety pieces with supervision, rules, and discussions with their little online users. But now parents have a hand from MySpace.
